One of my friend's daughters was part of the service and gave a talk on the Power of the Priesthood. She was so adorable and reminded me of the times that I gave talks for Sacrament. You could tell that she put so much time into her talk and that each word came from her heart. It reminds me of the verse in Matthew 19:14: "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."
What peace I received listening to her testimony and the passion that she held in her heart. It helped me to learn that I too need to study and read God's Word more and apply it to my heart and life. I should not to be embarrassed or shy away from my beliefs, but be grateful and delighted to have His presence in my heart and spirit.
As I continued to sit in Sacrament I was reminded of one of the most dear LDS songs to me, "I am a Child of God"...
I am a child of God,
And He has sent me here,
Has given me an earthly home
With parents kind and dear.
Lead me, guide me
Walk beside me
Help me find the way
Teach me all that I must do
To live with Him someday
This song is more than just lyrics that I would sing constantly during the week (it was my favorite song as a child), but now even lends direction. "Lead me, guide me, walk beside me, help me find the way, teach me all that I must do, to live with Him someday." I should be open to God's spirit and leading and follow His direction so that I may have a place in His kingdom.
What an incredible sense of warmth and blessing that I felt during this time.
