Celebrating our Parents

This past weekend has been full of exciting events.  On Friday we celebrated Dad's birthday and this Tuesday (tomorrow) we will be celebrating Mom's birthday (Ryan's mom).

We started this weekend with making dinner for Dad.  Ryan created some wonderful dishes: chicken pot pie and homemade bread pudding.  It was really yummy!

Saturday morning the New Hope Adventist Church held a surprise party to celebrate them!  It was so much fun coming together with everyone to wish them a happy birthday.

I love this picture.  Dad's holding the plastic knife to cut his cake (I grabbed them to take a picture before they were able to eat) and Ryan is holding a bottle of hot sauce that they received as a birthday present (I think he was trying to sneak it away-he he).

Yesterday the whole family went out to eat together (parents, my Mom, Ryan and I and aunts and uncle).  We love family time.  The food was very good and they brought the parents a nice little dessert with candles.  Ryan and I were joking around beforehand.

After dinner we all went back to the parents house for more cake (yay) and the Superbowl.  What a wonderful weekend!

and...on Friday Ryan and I will be making Mom her birthday dinner.  This way we can take our time and enjoy as Tuesday is a work day.  Our main course...40 garlic clove chicken (sorry the recipe is top secret).
