The first day here was full of different emotions and feelings.
We arrived to the admitting office and then had to wait about 20 minutes before we were sent upstairs. The first few hours were the most dfficult. My nurse came in to provide a variety of tests then soon after we saw one of the doctors. He arrived and performed more tests and stayed with us for at least 30-45 minutes writing down all of my history. Soon after my EEG team arrived. For the next hour my hair felt pulling, sticking, pressing and my nose suffered the worst ever smell (we all got masks) from the glue. They then put this ace bandage type of material around my head. I feel so embarrased when people come in.
Soon after they left my 2nd doctor came in and said that after reviewing my files it looks like epilepsy. It is now just a waiting game. They look at my first 24 hours on EEG and then decide the next steps from there. I just want answers. I forgot how to write a check last night (even the simple things are becoming difficult).
Unfortunately, everyone who enters my room needs to put on a gown. I'm not sick, but because I had MRSA over two years ago I still need to be isolated. It's annoying...I hope this doesnt keep any visitors away. You can see how stylish they are on Ryan...
Last night was hard. Being in a strange place, tons of wires, an iv, urgh. Hoping for some activity today. More to come.
