Several Weeks

I talked with Ryan and noticed that it has been about 3 weeks since we last wrote on our blog.  Fortunately, the last few weeks haven't been too eventful (which is a good thing seeing my history).

The summer has started off exciting with the weekly Flower pool gatherings at "the Gathering Place". The family gets together for a cookout and then time in the pool together.  Fortunately it's been nice and enjoyable.  We don't mind the rain seeing that we'll be getting wet anyway, but it's the lightning that frightens us a bit.

We started going through some of our things in the apartment and in the storage closet and it became more or less a trip back down memory lane than cleaning.  We found some of Ryan's old toys, some of our old wedding cards and other wedding memorabilia.  So sweet.  Needless to say, we didn't get much done.  This happens about twice a year and each time it's like we find something brand new that we haven't seen in years.

This weekend was pretty exciting.  On Saturday night Ryan and I went to see my friend Angela perform a little house concert.  Angela and I went to college together and I worked for her Mom at the school too.  She is such an amazing artist.  Sunday morning the "Moms" and I went to a friend's bridal shower.  We had a toilet paper wedding dress creation contest and I was privileged to be the model.  Fun fun.  Our dress ended up being the winner and we got to take home a vase of hydrangeas.

Last night was the Super Moon (I need to find a pic of a moon and add a cape to it), the time when the moon is the closest to the Earth and there is a full a moon that corresponds at the same time.  Ryan and I were sitting on the patio waiting with his camera and I looked across the street and there was this light shining behind the trees so I yelled to Ryan "I see the light over there" (sounds like a hymn) so we ran down the sidewalk and there it was in all its glory.  Absolutely beautiful!  It's times like this that I know within my soul that there is a God.  So many warm fuzzies from seeing a piece of nature that's so full of power and abundance and beauty.

This Thursday would have been Mom and Dad's 41st wedding anniversary.  Daddy died the year that would have been their 25th wedding anniversary.

Well, I'll have to add pictures tomorrow.  It's an early morning tomorrow and I'm ready to go to bed.

P.S. Oh, we did see Matt Maher at New Hope tonight.  WGTS was doing a Listener Appreciation concert and it just happened to be at our church.  The parents were helping so they gave us their free tickets/reservations.  It was fun and I love his music.  There was one little girl in the front of the church who pretended to play the guitar and was clapping along with everyone else and dancing with so much energy.  It's so cute and such a lesson to see children not being ashamed to praise God.
