Miscellaneous Updates

I've noticed that it has been forever since I last updated so I'll try and share what's been happening and then add in more tonight.

Two weekends ago Ryan and I went to camp with his parents in Hagerstown, Maryland.  It was so nice and quiet and fresh.  No buildings or traffic or pollution...just perfect!  We listened to the speaker, Pastor Jose on Friday night-he was really funny, made s'mores, (that's really becoming a tradition in this family) and went back to the cabin for sleep.  Saturday we enjoyed Sabbath School and had the opportunity to listen to Pastor Jose again, but this time outside.  It was a nice sermon, but pretty cold.  Saturday afternoon was fun, Ryan and I went hiking around the lake, talking and enjoying each other's company and finding leaves (some of them were so big).  Soon after I went to the Nature Center and held a snake. Sunday morning I rode a horse.  My great-uncle Gerald owned a ranch and horses were his passion.  I wish I could have shown him my pics.  Note of embarassment: see the child on the bottom right hand corner?  He led my horse the whole way.  I didn't want to be led.  I'm a grown up.  That was a very humbling experience.  Funny part-he started humming "Silent Night" halfway through.

This past weekend we went over to the parents for hotdogs and s'mores (see, tradition).  It was really chilly so the fire felt really good.  We were joined by our friends (though more family) Heather and Chris and their children: Taylor and Javen.  It was nice being able to sit on Friday evening sharing with each other, hearing the children sing and enjoying the good food.  I had Big Franks (thanks Heather), vegetarian hotdogs which were awesome!  I love these times, nothing fancy just quiet simple fun together after a long week.
