The Erratic Weather Systems of Washington, DC

On Thursday afternoon (yesterday) I walked with a co-worker over to the United States Botanical Gardens during my lunch break.


The scenery was breathtaking.  You almost wanted to stop for a few minutes and take it all in.  It definitely didn't feel like DC as there was such a sense of stillness. This is what we first saw when we entered:


This is just a small glimpse of the majestic nature that we viewed while we were there:



The weather was absolutely perfect.  It was in the low 70's, the sun was shining, there was a slight breeze; it was a perfect day for a walk.


Then this morning we come to work to this:


Rainy, windy (though I like the bad weather-weird, I know) and dark.  A complete 180 degree turnaround within 18 hours.  Such is the east coast.
