Why Toys R'Us?

Ryan and I have always enjoyed visiting Toys R'Us.  We never purchase anything, because we don't need to (plus, toys today are very expensive), we just enjoy walking through the aisles and remembering the simpler days.  It was such a treat to visit when I was a child.  That was my gift every Friday if I had a good week at school; again just window shopping and dreaming as many children do.

This is becoming such a treat and tradition for us as well.  While we're in our 30's, seeing a toy from when we were young (Lego's or Cabbage Patch Kids) still brings smiles to our faces.  It doesn't matter what the stress level or how long the week has been...Toys R'Us always seems to make it go way even for just a little while.

Jesus said "Become like little children".  While I know He didn't mean it literally it does have some wisdom (as all of Jesus' statements did).  Children look at life with an open spirit, a sense of optimism and a constant excitement.  They don't allow life's challenges to weigh them down.  While Toys R'Us is a small step, it does help decrease the stress, increase the smiles and bring that child-like enjoyment and appreciation of life just as Jesus meant for us to have.

To put our own spin on the famous phrase...
Toys R'Us...Where an Adult Can Be a Kid!!
