I remember the day...it was very special and very memorable. We had five ministers and five songs sung. I had waited my whole life for this beautiful moment and I wanted it to be longer than ten minutes though I was anxious to become Mrs. Flower.
I look back on September 26th and remember every thought. My heart was filled with warmth, I closed my eyes and I remembered the warmth of Majuro. It was God that brought us together from Baltimore/Washington to the 8,000 miles away to the little island of Majuro. We were nervous teachers who found love and comfort within each other. Who knew then that in 2014 I would be writing on my blog about the ten years of marriage that we have shared together.
Those who know the Flower clan know that the Baltimore Ravens would make an appearance in the wedding festivities. There were various shades of purple shown throughout. Ryan and I both wore matching Ravens socks...and...the men of the ceremony were found around one of the cars listening to the Ravens game over the radio before the wedding began. We were told during the reception that the Ravens won that game and we kept the paper from the next day that revealed the Ravens on the front page and their special win!
The Ravens have made another appearance in our festivities. The Ravens joined together with Smyth Jewelers for a special contest "The Rush For the Ring". Couples throughout Baltimore would need to share how the Ravens have had an impact on their relationship. Ten fortunate couples would win a special package. Ryan and I were one of the lucky couples! We will be meeting with the other nine couples tomorrow evening to receive our gift packages and tickets for the game on Sunday. We are so excited for our anniversary celebration weekend. How awesome!
These past ten years have been full of adventure...and...full of both the good and bad. The bad times would have been terribly difficult if we didn't have each other and the good times meant even more celebrating them together. We are so grateful for each moment that has come our way. We pray that Christ will always be the center of our lives and look forward to the next ten years and many more with each other hand in hand.
