Football...NFL

NFL football has come at last!  I never knew anything about football until Ryan came into the picture and now that's all I know.  False starts, incomplete passes, game replays, point after touchdowns....everything is familiar.  It's crazy, because even my Mom and my aunt in Richmond know the same terms and each have their own Ravens jerseys.

Fortunately, Ryan's family has season tickets so I am blessed to go to a couple of games per year.  It's a whole new experience when you're there in person rather than on TV.  We actually got to go to a game two weeks ago.  So cool!  Unfortunately, there were two young 20 year olds sitting next to us who had a little too much to drink.  One of the girls actually fell asleep on my shoulder.  One of those crazy memories.  I begged Ryan to let us stay after the game (even though it was 11:00) so I could see some of the players as they came out of the stadium.  I got to meet several, but the one I really wanted to meet was Ray Rice-my favorite.  One of the main reasons is because he's short, in football standards, like me, but has proved that even though he's small he can become great (a great example to children).  Well, he came close and I was sooo excited!  He had a sharpie and started signing the kids hats and programs and then just automatically took the sleeve of my jersey and autographed it!  I just wanted to shake his hand...which I got to do too.  I was like a child at Christmas.

So, by the time we left the stadium it was a few minutes after midnight and when we arrived to the light rail station we noticed that it was the last train of the night.  Wow! We were lucky.  We did make very close friends as there was barely any standing room, but we all had to force our way in.  We didn't get home until a little before 1:00 in the morning.  I was full of energy when I got home, but when I woke up at 7:00 the next morning, I was pooped.  Fortunately it was Friday.
