We left on Saturday morning (the 28th), hopped in the car and headed on our way. Ryan even made a special playlist for our trip. It was so nice being able to relax, rest and talk on our way up. It was about 1 1/2 hours until we arrived so by the time we arrived we felt so at ease.
We started walking through the apple orchards. There were so many types of apples so we did a lot of taste testing. Ryan of course saw the really good ones at the top of the tree. He has the advantage "height wise" so he tried to reach..
He was able to reach some. Very yummy! It has such a fresh taste coming right off the tree.
This was a Mitsu apple. We'd never heard of this type of apple before so we definitely had to try one. It was pretty good. It was more tart than sweet (just the way we like them).
We were walking towards the end of one row in the orchard and came across a beautiful pine tree. Our little piece of Christmas a couple months early.
We left the apple orchard and found rows of cauliflower, tomatoes and cabbage. We picked a head of cabbage, because we never had a cabbage fresh from the ground before (I'm sure it is at the grocery store, but it's kind of cool that we picked it ourselves). We then left for the main are of the farm and stopped by the lake and the petting farm. The lake was gorgeous and there were quite a few geese.
Larriland is one of favorite places to be and will always be a yearly tradition.
